AWARDS & PRIZES

CoderDojo Indiana strives to recognize ninjas who demonstrate our core values: innovation, determination, and collaboration. Each challenge track will award teams and/or individuals in the following categories:

Determination: The Determination Award is presented to a ninja or ninja team that stands out to volunteers and judges by demonstrating patience and perseverance when tackling the hackathon challenges. This ninja/ninja team stays calm, cool, and collected and keeps working to find a solution, even when things don't go their way. The recipients are selected by mentors and event staff based on observations throughout the day.

Sensei (Collaboration): The Sensei Award is presented to a ninja or ninja team that demonstrates both the courage to ask for help when needed and a willingness to help other students around them, even those who may not be on their team. The recipients are selected by mentors and event staff based on observations throughout the day.

Excellence: The Excellence Award is presented to a ninja or ninja team that demonstrates a clear mastery of computer programming through their hackathon challenge submission(s). Members of this team also exemplify our CoderDojo values (innovation, determination, and collaboration) throughout the event and practice the three CoderDojo mottos: Be Cool, Ask 3 then Me, and Have Fun! The recipients are selected by challenge judges, mentors, and event staff based on challenge submissions and observation throughout the day.

Innovation: The Innovation Award is presented to a ninja or ninja team whose hackathon project presents a creative or unusual solution to the given challenge. The recipients are selected by challenge judges.

Ninjas will also have a chance to win door prizes, giveaways, and other cool tech swag!
