Merillat Flowers is the Director of College-to-Career Talent Programs at TechPoint, the growth initiative for Indiana’s technology ecosystem. In her role, Merillat develops the strategy and vision for helping Indiana’s technology companies attract skilled talent from our Hoosier universities through short and long term internships, bootcamps and two-year retention programs.
Previously, Merillat worked with Teach For America’s program in Nashville, TN. After teaching middle school math and science for several years, she joined TFA staff and held a variety of roles connected to coaching teachers. Most recently, she served as the Managing Director, Teacher Leadership Development, where she supported a team of teacher coaches and nearly 200 new teachers in the city.
Merillat graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Political Science and has since earned her Master's in Education from Lipscomb University. She is new to Indianapolis and is looking forward to exploring the city with her husband, Trey, and their pup, Beasley.
