Tom began his career with the Roche in 1983 as a Sales Specialist for the US Diabetes Care commercial organization. Over the next 12 years, he progressed up through the local US Diabetes Care organization attaining positions with increasing responsibilities in sales and marketing. From 1995 to 2000, he held the position of Vice President of Sales, Diabetes Care US.

A recognized leader with the ability to unify teams and deliver bottom-line results, Tom accepted a new role within the US Centralized Diagnostics organization as Vice President of Sales in 2000, and then expanded his responsibilities to include leadership of US CD marketing in 2002. In 2005, he stepped out of sales and marketing to accept the role of Vice President and Site Manager for the Drug Monitoring business in the Roche Professional Diagnostics Business Area (RPD). In that position, Tom was accountable for Indianapolis manufacturing, research & development and global marketing functions.

In February 2008 Tom was given additional responsibility as Head of RPD Global Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Trials working out of Indianapolis and reporting into the global Head of the RPD Business Area located at the global headquarters in Rotkreuz, Switzerland. Broadly recognized as an accessible, authentic leader who is deeply engaged in employee development, Tom was named Senior Vice President and Head of Roche Diagnostics Operations, where he was responsible for the Indianapolis Site and directed the North America HR and Finance shared service activities.

In 2015 Tom was named Site Head for the Diabetes Care legal entity in Indianapolis, Roche Diabetes Care, Inc. In this role, he provided strategic leadership to develop the organization, the Diabetes Care site strategy and culture ensuring achievement of the financial and strategic business goals.

After 34 years at Roche Tom decided to retire from the corporate world to focus on his family, his personal interests and to give back to the community. 

As a passionate advocate for advancement in science and developmental opportunities for young people, Tom serves on the board of TechPoint Foundation for Youth - a philanthropic organization that funds and incubates science, technology, engineering and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) programs for Indiana’s underserved youth. Tom also chairs the Indy VEX Robotics Championship Advisory Board sponsored by the mayor’s office under the Office of Education Innovation.

Tom received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Miami in Oxford, OH.
