Coding Help Hotline

An opportunity to get your coding questions answered!

About

In partnership with Purdue University's VEX U Robotics Team - SigBots - we are thrilled to provide an extra layer of support as your robotics team is programming their robot during the season! The Coding Help Hotline is one of the newest resources available to robotics teams to help make sure students feel supported during the robotics season. Whether you are new to coding or an advanced coder, SigBot students will be ready to help!

What to Expect

From October - March, Purdue’s VEX U SigBots will host 30-minute Zoom sessions to answer coding questions and help your robotics students feel more confident with VEX Code. This opportunity is open to all grade levels (Elementary, Middle, and High School), including both VEX IQ and VEX VRC. The only requirements are:

  1. that you have Zoom capabilities

  2. a specific coding question or list of coding questions

  3. an adult present during the Coding Help Hotline call

Next Steps

If this seems like something that would benefit your team, please click the link below to schedule a time that works for your team. The link will take you to an availability calendar where you can self select when you would like to schedule time to get coding support. The automated scheduler will send over a calendar invite with a zoom link to join during your scheduled time.

When meeting, please make sure your students are prepared with questions to ask and that you are in the room during the Coding Help Hotline call. It would also be helpful for teams to have screen sharing capabilities so the support volunteer can help review their code.
