What STEM Means to Us

For TechPoint Youth, experiential STEM opportunities are those programs that provide students with hands-on learning focused on:

  • Primarily: the core disciplines of science, technology, engineering & mathematics, and

  • Secondarily: the important skills crucial to success in the 21st-century workplace, such as creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.

Who We Serve

Our priority population is composed of Indiana students who are underrepresented in the STEM career pipeline, including students from resource-limited families, female students, and students of color. This population lacks access to STEM learning opportunities and, as adults, are less likely to pursue STEM-related careers.

By engaging these students early in STEM learning opportunities, we inspire them to gain the education and training required for good 21st century jobs and we support Indiana businesses’ ability to find qualified, diverse employees.

Strategic Plan

We are a unique resource strategically positioned to bring the right partners together, around the right programs, to benefit Indiana students.

In 2026, we completed a five-year strategic plan, which set objectives and priorities to ensure that our efforts and resources are most effectively directed at achieving our mission and supporting Indiana students move through the STEM Success Pathway.

Strategic Planning Priorities

Our five-year strategic plan outlines the following goals to increase investments in our future generation of technology leaders:

  • Expand and Diversify High-Quality STEM Programming - Build on our foundation of robotics excellence while broadening into emerging and applied STEM fields to meet Indiana’s evolving talent needs.

  • Increase Access by Expanding School, Educator and Regional Partnerships - Broaden student access to STEM learning by strengthening partnerships with schools, educators, community organizations, and regional leaders to expand opportunities and deepen collective impact.

  • Strengthen the STEM Pathway from Discovery to Career - Cultivate a continuous STEM education pathway beginning in early childhood and extending through high school by connecting experiences, mentorship, and real-world learning opportunities that inspire long-term interest and persistence in STEM.

  • Be a Leader in Indiana’s STEM Landscape - Position TPY as a trusted partner and connector within Indiana’s STEM landscape, helping expand opportunities and broaden pathways for underserved and underrepresented students from early learning through future careers.

  • Strengthen Funding, Organizational Infrastructure, and Brand - Build a sustainable financial foundation while aligning organizational systems, partnerships, and brand identity to support long-term growth and impact.
