What if volunteering strengthened your team while strengthening a classroom?

This year, Indesign piloted a new approach to volunteering through TechPoint Youth's STEM Mentors program.

Rather than asking six employees to commit every week, Indesign created two cohorts of three volunteers who alternated visits to Fall Creek Valley Middle School's robotics club. This team-based approach ensured students and their teacher had STEM mentors in the classroom every week, while giving employees an opportunity to build stronger relationships with one another outside of work.

The results were a true win-win.

✨ 30+ students supported

✨123.5 volunteer hours

✨ 62 cumulative classroom visits across eight months

✨ More than $4,300 in volunteer value

This pilot showed how companies can create meaningful, sustainable volunteer experiences that benefit employees, educators, and students alike.

Thank you Indesign for your partnership, and thank you to Scott Fudge, Kevin Hunckler, Cameron Jiles, James Parker, Julia Taylor, and Kathleen Stevenson for your commitment to our students and for demonstrating the incredible impact of showing up, month after month.
